Bangalore Schools, Colleges have been closed due to rising COVID-19 cases. The state government led by CM Bommai has decided to shut all educational institutions in the city for next 2 weeks, except classes 10-12 and Nursing, Medical colleges. Guidelines here.

Bengaluru Schools, Colleges have been closed as Karnataka has witnessed a spike in COVID-19 cases, with maximum infections concentrated in the city. After a COVID review meeting today, on January 4, 2022, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai’s government decided to impose some curbs and shut all educational institutions barring some exceptions. Schools, Colleges have been closed in the city for the next two weeks except for classes 10-12 and Nursing, Medical, Paramedical colleges.
In the fresh curbs announced by Karnataka Minister R. Ashok, schools in the city would be closed from Janaury 6 for two weeks. The students of classes 10th and 12th would continue/ can continue with their classes. Apart from schools, weekend curfew has also been announced in the city and bars, pubs, theaters have been limited to 50% capacity. Guidelines on how schools would operate and mandates on online classes would be released shortly.
